ODJS Expands Benefits For Kids

Families caring for children who receive free or reduced-price lunches at school are getting a little extra financial help during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Families caring for children who receive free or reduced-price lunches at school are getting a little extra financial help during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) is distributing more than $250 million in extra funds across the state so that Ohio families can purchase extra food. Families that already receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will see the bonus added to their Ohio Direction card; others will receive a Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) card with the one-time benefit. Families should be on the lookout for this extra assistance.
