Parent Empowerment Institute (PEI)

Lucas County Children Services (LCCS) is proud to introduce the Parent Empowerment Institute (PEI)—a dynamic initiative created to uplift and empower parents by equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to build strong, healthy families.

About the Program:

The Parent Empowerment Institute provides free, hands-on training and weekly support groups designed specifically for parents and caregivers in Lucas County. Our goal is to strengthen families by promoting positive parenting, enhancing life skills, and building community connections that help prevent child abuse and support family stability.

Program Highlights & Successes:

  • Over 200 parents engaged in just the first year—many reporting increased confidence and improved parenting strategies.
  • Weekly Support Groups, covering topics such as helping children manage emotions, effective discipline techniques for all ages, ages & stages development, and self care.
  • Peer mentoring, allowing parents to support one another.
  • Collaboration with local agencies to provide families with access to resources and continued support.

PEI is more than a program—it’s a movement
to empower parents and strengthen our entire community.
