Coordinator Information Technology
Administrative Services Division

Lucas County Children Services (Toledo, Ohio) is seeking a Coordinator Information Technology Administrative Services Division.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Manage, develop, implement, and maintain Technical and Business projects, tasks, and activities of the agency.
Assist in developing communication training and implementation plans for improvements to the agency’s activities through new and
improved systems. Perform Business Process reviews and identify areas for improvement.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
    Assists in supervising and supporting the work of the department, whose primary responsibility is the support and training of microcomputer users, maintenance of microcomputer hardware, networks and communications. Plans, directs, and monitors work of assign projects and tasks. Research and develop Information and Business projects, ideas, and processes that improve the operations of the Agency. Makes recommendations on hiring, firing and promotion of staff. Assist in the management or resources. Assesses proposed information systems and recommends appropriate action and/or design.
  • Works with external vendors for the purpose of purchasing and/or developing software and hardware systems relating to agency Information Technology needs including VOIP.
  • Applies cost/benefit analysis methods to current and proposed applications and hardware/software configurations.
  • Reviews requests for additional Information Technology services and identifies impact on available resources of the Information Technology Department.
  • Identifies potential areas of improvement achievable through new and improved information systems or process improvement.
  • Evaluates new hardware/software technology and assesses applicability to requirements of the agency.
  • Plans and participates in management training and education on information systems and Information Technology applications to improve management capacities.

  • Coordinates and/ or conducts training for agency users, either in a classroom environment or one-on-one setting in general computer literacy tasks as well as agency specific applications. Coordinates and/ or orients new staff to their computing environment.
  • Leads cross functional teams in implementing IT and Process Solutions and assigns tasks related to process and IT implementation projects.
  • Participates in the long-range information systems planning process, making recommendations on strategic paths that will assist the agency in making the most effective use of information resources. Evaluates new hardware and software and makes recommendations on acquisition of hardware and software beneficial to agency functions; keeps up-to-date on new hardware/
    software offerings.

SCOPE OF POSITION: Reports to: Manager-Information Services

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with two years of experience in the field of Information Technology with progressive levels of responsibility, or Associate’s degree with four years of experience in the field of Information Technology with progressive levels of responsibility required. Demonstrated ability to conduct systems analysis, project management, and communicate with all levels of agency personnel. Ability to lead or be a member of a team. Demonstrated ability to supervise Information Technology personnel as a project leader. Demonstrated ability to model effective interactions and communication skills in cross-cultural situations required.

 

Pay Range: $54,272.40 – $81,426.80

Hours Per Week: 35
