Congratulations to LCCS community partner Isaiah 117 House, which cut the ribbon on its 44th house nationwide, and its first in Ohio, on August 16. This beautiful home in Oregon, “changes the way foster care begins.” Rather than children entering care by way of a caseworker’s cubicle or conference room, they can spend the time in a comfortable home with showers, clean clothes, toys, and volunteers to meet their needs. The house had a “soft opening” in April and has already helped 60 kids served by LCCS to have a smoother transition to foster care or kinship care.
We were honored to welcome Isaiah 117 House organization founder Rhonda Paulson, who traveled from Tennessee for the ceremony. Executive Director Randy Muth and Independent Living Supervisor Amy Cox spoke at the event, expressing the agency’s gratitude and sharing the impact the nonprofit and its volunteers have already made. Many of those volunteers, LCCS staff, donors, and community members attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was followed by tours and refreshments.
Once again, LCCS, as an organization, is serving as a role model for child protection agencies across the state and nationwide. Thanks to all who contributed to Isaiah 117 House, and who continue to help the agency lead the community in the protection of children.
