This virtual training introduces the concept of trauma as an underlying factor in some foster children’s problems. It provides an overview of the essential elements of trauma-informed parenting and provides real-world examples of trauma in children. Caregivers are introduced to factors that influence a child’s response to traumatic experiences and to the concept of resilience. This workshop is the first in a series of four workshops developed by the National Child Traumatic Stress Network.
