This workshop will review the skills of active listening, non-violent communication, and verbal de-escalation. Levels of crisis development and the conflict cycle are discussed, emphasizing a culturally appropriate response. Trainees will virtually participate in exercises and demonstrations concerning personal space, body posture, and motion. NOTE: This course is offered virtually online, enabling you to participate from your own home or office. A few days prior to the session, learners will receive an email containing connectivity instructions. Each participant needs to connect individually from a desktop computer, laptop or tablet. We need to track each person’s participation and engagement, which is no possible if connected as a group. Please do not use a mobile phone, as you will not have access to all functionality.
